For the upcoming Peru trip, our shaman instructed us to prepare for the trip with healthy eating and spiritual practices for two weeks prior to the journey. A ritual house cleansing and reorganization I thought would be in order too. Having rediscovered the Affirmation to Stay in Alignment last week, and having had someone ask me if I had a chakra meditation that I recommended (which I did), I certainly took that as a message from Spirit about what my spiritual practice should consist of during the preparatory period. House cleaning the chakras is always a good idea.
On the last trip to Peru, we worked a few days with the medicine of the San Pedro plant as well as Ayahuasca. I did well with the Ayahuasca but the San Pedro (or Wachuma) plant really lifted a lot of very heavy debris. This time, I’d like to not have so much debris to lift. I could tell that the plant was really trying to take me somewhere but I was too heavy to take the trip.
Maybe that should be my mantra for the next two weeks: Lighten up. Hmmm. So many meanings behind that phrase. And wasn’t it just the other day I was chatting with a friend about people who are “lit up”? I think I’ll try that mantra as meditative focus and see what happens.
