New York, NY (Inner Life Society) - Many urban youth are in crisis and need a positive, radical change. Parents, mentors and youth are discovering a powerful tool in the holistic empowerment camps facilitated by life & destiny coach, Antonia Martinez, Ph.D. and the non-profit Inner Life Society (ILS). The camps (www.HealingSpirit.com/camps.) take participants on a life-changing and life-affirming journey toward fulfillment that families and groups can collectively share as a unit.

“But you don’t need to be in crisis to want a better life,” says Dr. Martinez, author of The Self-Fulfillment Workbook and the Healing Pain, Grief & the Past e-book. “Some people think ‘good kids’ need less attention but, they need as much support as troubled youth when it comes to cultivating their ideas, dreams and selfhood.”

Empowerment camps, conducted onsite at schools, community centers, and other organizations, as well as virtually over the Internet or by teleconference, tackle mental, physical, emotional and spiritual issues as participants go through the process of building character and self-esteem, repairing self-image, and gently healing related emotional pain. Parents and mentors choose the specific focus of each camp. A cornerstone of the process is The Self-Fulfillment Workbook, which contains motivational messages, discussion topics, and journaling and empowerment exercises that encourage introspection, expression, accountability, and initiative among others. Parents and mentors share in the process, fostering communication, support, and respect.
