Life coach and author, Dr. Antonia Martinez reveals key strategies for adults and youth
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NEW YORK, NY, December 19, 2006 — In the search for self-fulfillment and self-esteem, many still haven’t found what they’re looking for. They still don’t have that spark in their eyes or that glow on their faces. "That isn’t something you can find. It’s something you radiate from within," says Dr. Antonia Martinez, a holistic life and destiny coach, and author of The Self-Fulfillment Workbook: 50 Exercises and Secret Truths for a Powerful Radiant Life. "Becoming a self-fulfilled person is a creative, proactive process to bring the dream of yourself to life". Dr. Martinez, who will partner with www.MySelf-Fulfillment.com to host free dial-in workshops on January 2, 18 & 20, shares 5 secrets to help you and those you love create self-fulfillment and build self-esteem.
- You don’t deserve a better, happier life; you’re responsible for creating one.
Some tell themselves, "I deserve better than this." Others tell themselves the exact opposite. In either case, much time can pass without much improvement. "You’ll only be as fulfilled as you allow yourself to be," notes Dr. Martinez. "What you deserve or don’t deserve makes no difference. What matters is you making it your business to be ready, able, willing, and proactive in creating the life you want.
- Fulfillment comes by invitation only.
Fulfillment doesn’t happen by force but by nurturing the natural power, momentum or excitement that is present. "Invite fulfillment into your life by creating the internal and external conditions that make it possible and sustainable," says Dr. Martinez. "If you desire a promotion, for example, nurture the skills, traits or relationships that welcome that opportunity to fit naturally into your life."
- You don’t have to believe in yourself. You have to commit.
Low self-esteem contributes to a lack of fulfillment but, that’s not what feeds the cycle of powerlessness and underachievement. "When you commit to putting one foot in front of the other, you will walk across the room, whether you believe you can or not," says Dr. Martinez. "Commitment builds esteem faster than esteem builds commitment." - Don’t do anything to get what you want. Only do what matters.
Ask what people are doing to bring their dreams to life, they may have a long list. Ask what they’re doing that has a direct and immediate positive impact, few will have an answer. Busyness does not equal forward motion. For some, being busy is justification—a way to pay your dues. "Your due is not to stall and suffer," says Dr. Martinez, "Your due is to pay attention to what’s effective and what works." - Simplify your life around your dream.
How much of your home, office, mind, and schedule are filled with mess and clutter that have nothing to do with the life you’re trying to build? How much of that mess and clutter is in direct opposition to the life you’re trying to build? "Eventually, your life revolves around avoiding the messes rather than reaching your destiny," Dr. Martinez explains. "Clean that mess up and create a clear path to your fulfillment!"
