Can meditation help me deal with crazy people?

On Wednesday, I was at the Open House for The City College of New York's Continuing and Professional Studies program. I was answering questions about meditation and the meditation class I'll be teaching at City College starting March 15. The most popular question by far was, "Can meditation help me deal with crazy people?" Every time it was asked, there was laughter on both sides, but the question was no joke. They were completely serious.

Life is so much better when you just deal with it

In anticipation of some unpleasant truth or other dramatically ill-fated outcome that we might imagine, we sometimes procrastinate, stress over, or just ignore a task or situation altogether. When we finally grey around to dealing with it, however, we may realize, “oh, that wasn’t so bad,”–except for the fact that all the waiting and delaying [...]

Effectiveness, Not Perfection, is the Name of the Game

I hope you're not standing in your way or sitting on untapped treasure and potential while waiting for something to be "perfect," "good enough" or unnecessarily impressive. I can understand why you might want to do that. But I hope you can understand why others on the same road might be passing you by while you wait, or why your dreams might still be on the shelf even after all this time.

Get Hotwired for Meditation

Get Hotwired for Meditation @ the Meditation Program at the City College of New York The Meditation Program @ the City College of New York FOR REGISTRATION: (212) 650-7312 or http://www.cps.ccny.edu FOR MORE INFO & VIDEOS: http://www.HealingSpirit.com/meditation I'm always asked, especially in interviews if I can share a meditation technique that people can do in 5 minutes. But meditation is not about technique. Meditation is a process. And there is a natural and organic progression in that process that makes meditation meditation. Not knowing the process or how to facilitate it, you can interfere with or stall it with random quickie meditation techniques. To use an analogy, meditation technique is like turning the ignition in a car. But to get the engine to turnover, you need other components in place and other processes to happen inside the car. And that's what you're learning in this course" to go beyond mere technique and to develop what you need to turn your meditation engine over naturally. So we're hotwiring you for meditation. From: AntoniaMartinez Views: 2 0 ratings Time: 01:36 More in Education
