Having Trouble with the Law of Attraction?

Awareness of the spiritual Law of Attraction has become mainstream. The most basic definition of the law is that you create or bring into experience whatever you focus on (in word, thought and/or deed). Affirmations and visualization are perhaps the most common mainstream practices for applying the Law of Attraction to one’s life. It’s a fairly simple law but, some people run into difficulty when trying to put the law to work in their lives. In this article, I share some insights into the Law of Attraction that may help you use it more effectively and be more successful in its application.

The first aspect is the Law of Alignment
When you hear the phrase “Law of Attraction,” it may immediately call to mind an image of calling something to you from “out there.” That’s what it can look like from the outside. From the inside, what is happening is more like tuning into a radio broadcast. The station’s signal was there the whole time, but until you tuned into it, you weren’t able to receive or perceive it. If you are having trouble “attracting” something, it is likely that you your words, thoughts, actions choices, lifestyle, feelings, or physical condition are out of alignment with or closed to the very thing that you want. Examine closely if any of your habits or daily routines are in opposition to your goal. When in alignment, things tend to manifest more quickly, sometimes instantaneously.
The second major aspect is the Law of Manifestation
Sometimes the thing you desire to attract does not yet exist on the physical plane. The energy of your focus and attention go to work to literally create the experience. It begins to build and shape the physical reality around the experience you are trying to “attract.” Some things take longer to gestate than others. Have you ever given up on something because it seemed it just didn’t exist, only to find that very thing everywhere just a few days, weeks or months later? Reality is a strange animal. If you are committed to seeing something manifested, trust that it’s coming, and stay committed until it comes through.
The third aspect, I call the Law of Allowance
You can perform all the affirmations, visualizations, incantations, meditations, magic spells, prayers, and ceremonies you want. But when you get down to it, the question is, how much of what you want will you freely and openly allow into your life? Opportunities are ever abundant; the universe is rife with them. Sometimes these opportunities are delivered at your door. Sometimes you have to go the distance and pick them up yourself. In either case, consider yourself a co-creator because you need to do your part. How cooperative will you allow yourself to be?
If you still have trouble manifesting what you want, don’t get frustrated, admit that you don’t know how to manifest it. Take a break from trying to force it to happen. Get quiet, breathe, and affirm to the Universe, “I don’t know how to manifest what I want, but I am willing to learn.” You might be surprised at how powerfully liberating it is to simply ask for help.
To better understand the Law of Attraction, it may be helpful to look at it as three laws in one. Working with these three aspects is key to mastering the Law of Attraction.
