Inca Secrets to Manifest Your New Life

I recently came back from an amazing journey to the mountains and jungles of Peru and Bolivia with an equally amazing Peruvian shaman, Don Victor Estrada. As you might imagine, it was a journey of profound healing, self-discovery, personal growth, deep spiritual revelation, and incredible adventure. It was a rite of passage and a powerful initiation into new knowledge, new prosperity, new power, and new life.

The ancient Incas of Peru and their predecessors had a wealth of teachings, rituals, and ceremonies to unveil and unfold one’s newness. One such ritual that our group had the privilege to participate in took place in a jungle oasis.  It was a ritual to clearly envision the new life we wanted to create, wash away the limitations of the past, and immerse ourselves in the energy of a new self. In essence, the whole trip was about that. About immersion and initiation into a new life.

There are some who think that it’s just too late, too difficult, or that maybe they’re not meant to have the new life that they envision because they feel blocked at every passe. The journey into each new life is preceded by a period of preparation. It’s an important time that some overlook, underestimate, or simply don’t devote enough time to. So rather than clear a fresh new space to incubate this new life, they unwittingly start building on top of a pre-existing foundation that can’t support the new life.

On the journey to your new life, you have to pack light. There are some things, perhaps many things you’ll have to leave behind in order for there to be pace for the seeds of your new life to germinate. Having clarity about the new life you want to see blossom is obviously an important part of manifesting that life. However, the ritual we performed in the jungle to envision and immerse ourselves in our new life was not something we did the first day of the journey or even the second day. It came much later, in fact near the end of the quest, after we had begun the process of purging our heaviest, most limiting, and self-defeating energies.

Creating that sacred space between your old life and the new, that void where anything is possible, including things you’ve not yet imagined for yourself is an important Inca secret to manifesting your new life. Simplify Your Life Around Your Great Work

Whatever you desire to do in life, whatever creation you wish to bring to life, whatever dream you desire to make real–that is your Great Work. And the great secret about performing this Great Work is to simplify your life around it. We have, I think, grown so accustomed to self-distraction and multitasking that a lack of focus and absence of meaningful self-discipline have become a way of life for many. We often worship productivity to the point of pointlessness, having only an afterthought (if any thought at all) about the effectiveness of our efforts or the efficacy with which those efforts fulfill their purpose. So, today, right now, this second, I pose to you a question: What would your life be like if you simplified it around your Great Work?

Imagine stripping away your unnecessary and fruitless routines, attachments and involvements to make your Great Work the center of attention and the love of your life. How many hours in a day, how many miles on your Path would you gain to advance your Work? How different would your life be if your Great Work came first and foremost? How fulfilling would it be? There’s really only one way to find out.

Think of one thing–anything–in your life that you could do without, and fill that space instead with steady attention on your Great Work.
